Many congratulations to Dr. Cheng Fu of the CGIS who was awarded his doctoral degree at the commencement ceremony for the Department of Geographical Sciences on Monday, May 21st. Dr. Fu's dissertation is on 'Using Socially Sensed Big Data to Model Patterns and Geographic Context of Human Activities in Cities'. His doctoral advisor is Dr. Kathleen Stewart. Cheng has accepted a postdoctoral research associate position at the University of Zurich, Switzerland and will begin this position in summer 2018.
