The new Social Data Science Center (SoDa) was established by the College of Information Studies and the Department of Joint Program in Survey Methodology. The Center held a 3-Day Virtual Launch with panel discussions that featured center researchers, affiliates and industry leaders.
Dr. Stewart joined a panel discussion on Social Data Science and Health for Day 1. The panel discussion included presentations on "Ubiquitous Data Collection: Self-Tracking with Mobile, Wearable, and Embedded Devices” and “Social Data Science and Health: A Geospatial Perspective” as well as an overview of work by research scientists at Facebook and covered big complex issues involving health. Panelists were: Kathleen Stewart, Eun Kyung choe, Katherine Morris, Sarah LaRocca. More information on all three days and video recordings of the panels are available here.
