Emergency evacuations are essential for protecting people from hazardous events such as wildfires, tsunamis, hurricanes, industrial accidents, and terrorist actions. One way to assess the effectiveness of an evacuation plan is through mathematical models that represent the road topology, population characteristics, and hazard conditions of a specific geographic area.
The MPSGIS program hosted its Fall 2018 Capstone Poster Symposium on November 13, 2018. The Capstone Symposium is held twice a year, in the fall and spring terms, and serves as the final presentation of the graduating MPSGIS class. This term twenty-three students presented their final Capstone projects, which are either research-focused, design-focused, or a combination of both.
